You wouldn’t want to bet against George Clooney coaxing a second free drink on a choppy trans-American flight. That’s just the kind of scenario audiences will have to comprehend when the latest Jason Reitman comedy, “Up in the Air” is released in January. Clooney stars as Ryan Bingham, a corporate hatchet man who lives for his life on the road but suffers a professional crisis when his company downsizes the travel budget. It’s a blow not to be taken lightly as Bingham was just on the verge of his lifelong goal: reaching ten million frequent flyer miles. Whether “Up in the Air” is chic Clooney or geek Clooney is not yet apparent, but the brand new sneak peak supplied by Paramount Pictures Australia perhaps suggests a 70/30 split towards the former.
