Triump the Insult Dog at Comic-Con
August 7th 2008 22:48
If you're a fan of Triumph the Insult Dog, you may be mildly amused to hear that he was at Comic-Con this year.
Wait, wait, wait.... Triumph the Insult Dog? Who is he/she/it?
It's a rubber dog puppet that appeared on the Conan O'Brian show, visiting people on the street and heckling them with some kind of European accent. His funniest performance, in my mind, is when he visited the all-week line before the premiere of "Attack of the Clones":
Since then, Triumph has gone on to spew out countless YouTube remixes and songs, only stopping his meteoric climb to fame by stopping at Comic-Con to hurl insults at a crowd of comic books fans that lapped it up.
You'll notice that Comic-Con is a major player in the entertainment industry... once the refuge of reviled nerds, studio execs are showing up at the conference, buying a Green Arrow hat and going 'Right, guys? Me too, right? Who wants to link to our "Hulk" viral video?'
