The Worst Nirvana Cover Ever
June 17th 2006 05:30
When I was a young punk, I managed to buy a cassette tape of Nirvana's Nevermind, a seminal early 90s grunge album.
My father wasn't pleased and he used his knowledge of pseudo-psychiatry to convince me that it would turn me evil.
Well, here we are, years later, and I'm plotting to destroy the world's capital cities with giant frickin' laser beams, so I guess he hit the nail on that one. Good call, Pops!
Yes, in those unsexy days, every high school band covered 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' which, I think, is still a damn good song.
What would it look like, I wonder, if three people who had no musical talent got together and covered the song, without practising or any musical passion.
Wonder no further!

how about those 60s English rock bands doing blues covers, like Led Zeppelin and the Yardbirds? Pretty good, pretty good.
And, shit, I *love* hip hop throwbacks, like Snoop doing Eric B. and Rakim!
