Star Wars: The Clone Wars trailer

George Lucas has finally accomplished what he's always dreamed of. As Jason Kottke points out:
"Lucas finally does away with all those pesky human actors in an animated sequel to Episode II that no one was clamoring for"
Even Star Wars fans seemed to have hit a stretch of malaise and indifference towards Lucasfilm, George Lucas' production company, responsible for the tragically disappointing prequels.
What was the worst aspect of the prequels? The acting? The overuse of CGI? The sense that Lucas was writing it on the fly? The total abandonment of a sense of dignity? The obvious pander towards merchandising and licensing?
Well, no longer forced to work with flesh and blood, Lucas goes 100% CGI, and it looks exactly like the prequels. In fact, I suspect that this is what Lucas wanted to do all along. No need to talk to any actors, no need to run a crew in strange locations. Just have some computers whip it up, then get voice actors to sit in a studio.

As a fan of the original star wars and the new ones I am not sure how I am going to cope with the animated version it seems wrong somehow. Of course I will have to go and see it though!
