Snakes on a Plane - Film Preview

April 5th 2006 22:14
What seemed like the most retarded movie of all time has become an unexpected favourite with the blogging community. Bloggers are hyping the movie to stratospheric levels, giving the Samuel L. Jackson film unprecedented visibility.

Wired News has a collection of some of the Internet's best Snakes on a Plane spoofs. My favourite is this one:

I'm not sure what the rationale behind this movie was.

But now, I'm going to have to see it.

Maybe it'll be like the Rocky Horror Picture Show... in 20 years, people will be dressing up like Shaft and going to the theatre to throw rice and, I dunno, snakes at the screen.

Word on the street is that they raised the rating from PG-13 to R.

Yeah, now it's an adult-oriented film!

.. about snakes.

On a plane? Snake-related nudity?

Here's the fabulous blog post that started it all!

C-c-cold-hearted Snake!

Shout Out: Rachel posted about going to see Katalyst this Friday in Kings Cross. It's cheap, and it'll be a great show!

Can someone please clear this up for me? I've always thought this to be a really extravagant internet joke - a disillusion not helped by the fact that the entirety of marketing is by word of mouth, accompanied by fan artistry in the likes of Samuel L Jackson MS Paint, or the infamous youtube preview consisting completely of clips of SLJ from Pulp Fiction and various other past classics. I'm yet to hear of any official news about this film, apart from a five second clip of SLJ on the Ellen show, saying he agreed to be in the movie merely because it was called "Snakes on a Plane." Everything else seems to be everyone else hyping this up. Nevertheless, if this does turn out to be a real film it will have to be the biggest hit ever - anyone who has heard of this film and the hype surrounding it (ie. everyone using the Internet iie. EVERYONE) will go and see it. I'm telling you, this is bigger than the Titanic, both the historical ship, and the piece of crap DiCaprio-Cameron collaboration (sorry had to be said).

hehe i can NOT wait for this movie to be released!! the film idea was leaked onto the internet months ago, leading to many samuel l. jackson impersonations: "we got motherf***in snakes!"

something i read recently reported that producers of SoaP are getting the actor back to reshoot a couple of scenes so he'll actually be saying that line in the movie. ..!!!!!!!!

oh yeah i also found this amusing..

Poor python... I'd give it a good home!

Then I'd have a 'Motherfucking Snake!'
