Gal Sone - Japanese girl eats more than Sumo Wrestlers...

Natsuko "Gal" Sone is a 45 kg (100 lbs), 5' 5" Japanese girl with dyed-blonde hair, a slender figure and a cute smile. She's also a ferocious eater that's taking Japan by storm, out-eating sumo wrestlers and appearing on Japanese TV.
Here's a video of her eating a 9 kg bowl of food, bringing her weight up to a hefty 54 kg!
The internet is a-buzz with news about Sone, who's captured a piece of YouTube notoriety. Yeah, there are a lot of competitive eaters out there, but it's pretty wild to see one that so small and cute.
Japan is basically busting open pop culture. What does Hollywood have in return? Britney Spears getting dumped and dull celebrities trying to spice up their image by surreptitiously selling their own bland, missonary-style sex tapes.
No, I think Japan is the land of the 'What the-?' and videos like this make me want to go there, so badly. Can you imagine? You meet some random girl, all slender and annoyingly-cute, you take her to a noodle bar and she eats 22 bowls of noodles? You're out of money, Jack, and you'll have to clean dishes for the rest of the night...

Just stay out of the rest of the country, though, because what you see on imported television is by no means representational of the culture as a whole, or even of the culture outside of certain parts in Tokyo. I know it's sad, but that's the way it is, really.
By the way, I'd never even heard of this kid till stumbling across this blog! Amusing find. Gotta love Japan's fecked up censorship laws.
