Jackie Chan's 10 Greatest Injuries

September 3rd 2007 22:39
Most of us watched Rumble in the Bronx and thought, God DAMN, who is that guy and why is he so awesome?

Then we saw Rush Hour and thought, A-ha-ha, a Chinese guy with a fast-talking black guy! What better unlikely partners?

Jackie Chan, my friend, Jackie Chan. He's made over 100 movies, if you can believe it.

He's more of an acrobat than a Kung Fu fighter, with his silly, comedic choreography giving audiences thrills and laughs. He does his own stunts, and sometimes it goes all wrong.

This is a clip of some of his nastier injuries. What a tenacious fool!

Jackie Chan has been pumping out movies in China for years and years,

Jackie Chan is great, the earlier movies are a lot better than his recent ones. Everything after Who Am I? is just like any other action movie, always with some other “star”. The early, better ones just have Jackie Chan doing what he does best.

The Protector might be his best movie. The Police Story stuff is always good too, Rumble In The Bronx and Mr Nice Guy are always entertaining too.

Great clip Cib,

I'm a Drunken Master, Project A, Police Story and Armour of God man myself...I cant watch his US films because they are so formulaic and the stunts lack the energy/creativity of his early work.

SI, JD, I love some of his early stuff.... Drunken Master blew my mind.

He did some really cheesy action stuff in the 80s, though, that I can't even sit through...

Cibby,

loved Jackie Chan films before the West even knew who he was...When his films weren't even dubbed yet and before he started doing them in English! I've introduced a lot of people to his movies over the years and they are never disappointed...

Chan is not only funny, but he is a marvelous acrobat! Knowing the he does all his own stunts makes his movies that much more enjoyable...Now he is practically a household name...

Great post...Chan rocks!

Take care,

Nick

Nothing like him when he was younger,
but he is much slower these days and takes less risks.

Him and Bruce Lee are Ying and Yang of action.

Jackie Chan is the shit!!! I'll sit through the most trite dribble for Jackie......hell, I watched The Tuxedo!!! His older stuff is still the best though. I loved Police Story.

My favourite is still Drunken Master. When I was little, he was up there with Bruce Lee for me. I hear no one wants to insure him?

Honestly most of my favourite Jacky Chan movies does come from the older ones, like A Project, Police Story, Drunken Master (the beginning), and the list goes on.

One of the later movies that is produced in Hollywood would probably be Shanghai Knights.

At this moment, he still rocks, though his son isn't as popular as he is at the moment... ^_^

Have a blessed day

Ya know Jackie Chan transends the ages.

Who'd a guessed that my three daughters fell in love with all the hoop la and action (albeit the newer Hollywood version) of Jackie from a very young age.

Yep - Everything from Wheels on Meals to the Young Master were pretty good - but Police Story - that rates!

I ate at his restaurant in Shanghai. Other than a picture of him smiling on the door, there wasn't much Jackie-ness.

His movies are a guilty pleasure, especially the old frantic ones...
