Indiana Jones Trilogy in the Works?

July 18th 2007 23:12
Indiana Jones Harrison Ford
Harrison Ford and Shia LaBoeuf have started filming the new Indiana Jones movie, with tingly fans shrieking in anticipation for photos or footage. All we have is this photo of Harrison Ford dressed like Indy and sitting in a rocking chair.

Today, the Guardian Film Blog found a rumour that Lucas et al. may be planning to do a trilogy, and some of the actors have signed for a further two films.

Ah, good.

After destroying the sanctity and legacy of Star Wars, Lucas is apparently ready to ruin another one of his earlier works, capitalizing on fanboyism to make him millions more. Plus, the merchandising. Indy will probably escape from the Nazis with the help of short, hairy Italian men, called the Giovannis. Yubnub!

So, to answer the Guardian's question: "Should Lucas be trusted after Star Wars?'

No.

Isn't H. Ford too old to work on future movies? Or is this trilogy going to be some digital video game such as Star Wars?

I would hate to see Indy go the way of Star Wars! When I first heard about this, I was pretty psyched. Now, unfortunately, I think you're right!

anon, well, Ford will have younger stuntmen doing all the hard work. I guess his main role will be to stand around and crack jokes.

james, I think it'll probably go that way. I'm sure we can count on Lucas filling all the scenes with CGI...

No! Absolutely not! After years of eagerly anticipating the prequel trilogy, Lucas gave us nothing but campy crap - bad acting, bad plot. Leave Indiana Jones alone - why couldn't they have just left it at The Last Crusade? Grrr....

It's gonna have Cate Blanchett in it too.

And I agree - tell George to keep his grubby hands off - he's got enough franchising to worry about after he completely messed up his own.

Jar Jar Binks....I mean....really.

hehe the giovannis.

south park was right when it parodied this remake madness and touched upon indiana jones!

once again the utter lack of originality in hollywood is on display. man, i am sticking to porn where at least they try to find new plots in how people can get it on in varying circumstances.
