I attended the Filmink Movie Extra Awards last week
March 19th 2008 22:52
Them fine cats at Destra Media sent me to cover the 2008 Filmink Movie Extra Awards, a night of barely restrained glee and self-deprecation.
Ostensibly, the night served to recognize achievements by Australian filmmakers and actors in the industry... but when it came down to it, the show was giggling send-up of what the Oscars might be like if people actually tried to have a good time.
The above photo is of Colin Friels (right) who won the Peter Finch Lifetime Achievement Award.
The picture below is of someone I don't know. Can you help a brother out? Does anyone know the name of this actress?
Read my review of the night!

Friends of mine went, said it was a great night.
I think that's Analiese Braackensiek (sp??). She's one of those 'slashies'.
...you know...model slash actress slash singer slash amazon slash swiss army knife.
She was in that appalling series 'Pizza' as a parody of a supermodel...Claudia Macpherson.
...BUT...she also looks like a severely airbrushed and enhanced Toni Collette!!
Have a good weekend Cibby (you too Tracy!) and Happy Easter!

JD, it was a good time... I expected to be bored by long speeches, but everything was nice and crisp.
