Reviews, previews and chuckling and snorting...
This is one of those things that's just making the rounds on the Internet, and it'll make you wonder about the usefulness of the Internet.

It appears to be a 13-year-old kid lip synching to some song, which is not that good.

Unless that's his real voice, in which case, that kid is going to get so much action in middle school...!

I found this on YesButNoButYes, which had the following hilarious comment:

"Embedded n the hope that somehow by passing this damn thing on, I can get it out of my head before it drives me completely crazy. It's like The Ring, but with chocolate."

Please, don't let it be like The Ring. The last thing I need is some 13-year-old kid with glasses, crawling out of my computer screen and chasing after me with his impressive bass voice, going 'Chocolate Rain...'

Update: Tay got an endorsement deal with Dr. Pepper, playing his Chocolate Rain song for their new Cherry Chocolate Soda. It's got moving away from the mic, loads of sexy girls and a rapper.

Borat at the Tour de France

July 16th 2007 23:10
This video seems to show Borat, famed Kazahkstani journalist, running alongside the bikers in the Tour de France, clad only in that horrific shoulder-strapped thong-thing.

Naturally, it's an impostor. The real Borat knows better than to appear in public... Sascha Baron Cohen, the man behind Borat, would be smart to retire the character forever. In fact, if he knows what's good for him, he'll stay out of the schtick for good... with his height and recognizable face, it's too easy to pick him out. Let all the B-grade impersonators ruin the art.

Feverish Zoolander praise

June 23rd 2007 18:46
Zoolander is a comedy written and directed by Ben Stiller, who has nailed the 'it's-so-dumb-it's-funny' genre of comedy. It's the kind of comedy that college guys like to watch, because you can still laugh at it no matter how inebriated you are.

Zoolander. Hmmm. Hell, I liked it. And I even thought it had a refreshing script, with slick, MTV-style editing and a vibrant soundtrack

It's a weird, weird world

I'm snorting in disbelief. MTV has created a new award, the Best Summer Movie You Haven't Seen, in order to drum up some teeny excitement for their bland, over-commercialized award show.

Audiences will have a chance to vote for films they haven't seen. How do you vote for something you know nothing about? Well, it's not so different from voting for an American President - just fill in the box. Or mark it with a checkmark. Or an X. But don't draw outside the box or we'll disallow your ballet, you fool

Batman: Defenders of the Night

April 26th 2007 00:07
This terrible fan film is making the rounds on the Internet as a better Batman tribute than most of the big-budget film adaptations.

Xeni Jardin from BoingBoing is trekking through Africa, photoblogging the weird and unusual sights she stumbles upon.

This canned delicacy doesn't sound too delicious, though

Bruce Li fights a gorilla

April 11th 2007 18:49
We all know that Bruce Lee was the baddest MoFo this side of Chinatown, going Downtown with Charlie Brown (even I have no idea what I just said), but after his suspicious death, there was a noticeable Lee-shaped hole in the universe.

Filmmakers in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea decided to plug the hole up with Bruce Lee imitators, creating the fond genre of Bruceploitation flicks, with notable stars such as Bronson Lee, Bruce Chen, Bruce Lai, Bruce Le, Bruce Lei, Bruce Lie, Bruce Liang, Bruce Ly, Bruce Thai, Bruce K.A. Lea, Brute Lee, Bruce Leung, Myron Bruce Lee, Lee Bruce and Dragon Lee

Japanese Deep Fryer/Aquarium

March 29th 2007 23:06
Goldfish in aquarium deep fryer
These fish aren't for frying. A Japanese company makes these 'WaterFryer' which is - seriously - a deep fryer with a functional aquarium.

Apparently, because oil and water don't mix, the fish are fine as long as they stay away from the oil. And they can eat the fried debris as it sinks from the oil, keeping it rather clean

Christian movie reviews are fun!

March 27th 2007 18:32
It's easy for all of us to sit around and talk about how satirical the original version of Dawn of the Dead was. We're preaching to the converted and we all nod our heads in agreement.

It's infinitely more amusing to read reviews from ChildCare Action Project Ministries, a website that gives you the real deal about being offended by movies. Here's the review of one of the best zombie movies of all time

Steampunk Star Wars

March 2nd 2007 00:45
Steampunk Lord Vader with Lightsabre
From Table of Malcontents, a link to an artist's blog with an interesting theme: Steampunk Star Wars.

The Star Wars universe is already gritty, dirty and abused. It's a grim future, where evil and good battle so much and so often, that no one has anytime to give their speeders even a quick wipedown with a moist rag. That is, until George Lucas went back and made things undesirably shiny
