1 000 Films to see before you die (from the Guardian)
June 26th 2007 18:58
Bah!
Harumph!
I can't even make it through a page of this list before I get excited to go to the video store and rent the ones I haven't seen.
Ack!
The Guardian Film blog is putting together a list of 1 000 movies that you should see before you die, and it's good.
It's separated alphabetically, and it's not even complete... they're putting out 200 at a time.
What makes this list fun to read is that it's lacking in pretension, which is what I was expecting. On the list are some guilty favourites (Ace Ventura, Bad Santa), camp comedies (Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, Barbarella) to stupid humour (Beverly Hills Cop, Dumb and Dumber).
That makes it a list that we can all read and enjoy. And maybe discover something new?
Instead of sharing movies that I like from this list, how about movies that I don't like:
Dirty Dancing
Face/Off
Ghost
That is all.
Harumph!

And looking at the list of films they've already put out, I'm already feeling there are way too many movies I'm never going to catch up with, just as I was bewailing the same problem with not being able to read all the books I'd like to read on my own blog.

Film & TV on DVD
Guilty pleasures are so personal...I cant believe stuff like Ace Ventura, Meet The Parents etc would be an important film to see......but Kentucky Fried Movie or Amazon Women on the Moon, now there are retarded comedies I love that would make my list.
Good to see Flying High for instance, but wrong that Dumb and Dumber is included.
Awesome that Better of Dead made the cut, silly that Meet the parents is there.
Brilliant that Dead Men Dont Wear Plaid is in but why is Dodgeball?
Could play all day but gotta go, fun post.
